“I think I feel worse,” Jago groaned, face down on the picnic blanket on Pelistry Beach. “Cheese and tomato sandwiches definitely don’t help hangovers. Though I really think that was obvious.”

“The fresh air must be helping,” Sylvie said, amused.

“What was wrong with the stuffy air in my bedroom, that’s what I want to know.”

“Your room stank like a brewery.”

“Exactly.” He grinned at her as he sat up. “I love breweries.” After looking up and down the deserted stretch of golden sand he turned to her. “Close your eyes.”

“What?”

“Close your eyes,” he repeated. “Please.”

After a moment of him beaming at her, she did as he asked. “Why am I closing my eyes?”

“Because I need to go skinny dipping. Don’t open your eyes unless you want to see me naked.”

Her eyes opened automatically and he let out a rumbly laugh while he whipped his hoodie off and then his T-shirt. “I knew it!” he said mischievously.

“Are you seriously getting naked?” she asked, feeling a tingle of excitement as his hand went to his belt buckle.

“Yes. Now stop being a perv and close your eyes. Unless you want to come with me?”

“Skinny dipping?” she asked, putting a hand over her eyes.

“Yes. Since your hangover tactics are useless I’m going to have to resort to swimming. That water’s freezing, by the way. This is what you’ve reduced me to.”

“Are you serious?”

“The shock of it will fix my hangover in seconds. Right, I’m off. No peeking!”

She waited about half a second before opening an eye and sneaking a look through her fingers. Since he had his back to her, she dropped her hand and let her eyes rove over the deliciously taut skin of his back and the paleness of his backside.

She didn’t have time to look away when he glanced back over his shoulder. “Pervert!” he shouted, making her laugh loudly.

The sight of him prancing around as he forced himself into the cold water kept her laughing until he was fully submerged.
